2018 Member Vote
Sandals Church has grown significantly since the first time we created our governing policies back in 1999. In order to help us be better structured to accommodate our growing family and addition of new locations, we need to make a few updates to how we operate.
Your vote to approve these changes is incredibly important to give us greater protection as a religious organization as we move forward in an ever-changing political climate.
Here’s what you’ll be voting on:
- Updated Articles of Incorporation: These updates allow us to more explicitly express our religious purposes and beliefs to protect Sandals Church, our rights and our tax status. Additionally, they will change our governing structure to reflect how we already function, doing away with requirements for member votes.
- Updated Bylaws: These will be updated to reflect the changes in our articles of incorporation to more explicitly express our religious purposes and beliefs to protect Sandals Church and our people and provide the practical updates to our structure to no longer require member voting.
- Approving the Board: Our current bylaws call for a member vote to approve our current board of directors. Prior to the changes above, we need to take one more vote to approve the individuals currently serving on our board.
