Baptism at Sandals Church is a powerful outward expression of this inward reality. It represents the belief that Jesus Christ died for our sins, was buried, and rose again so that we could be forgiven and made new. Going under the water symbolizes the death of our old life, and rising out of the water represents the beginning of a new life with Jesus. Baptism does not save us; rather, it publicly declares our faith and our decision to follow Christ. It is a step of obedience and a celebration of transformation—marking the moment we choose to leave our past behind and walk forward in the new life Jesus offers.
